Caledonian Railway and LMS diagram 24: 8/10t, centre door open wagon in 4 mm scale
The majority of these centre door high sided goods wagons would have been used in industrial Scotland however they would have been seen throughout the UK.
This vehicle is based on a drawing dated in 1916 which included the either side brake shoe arrangement, made compulsory by the Board of Trade in 1911. The basic form of this wagon dates back to the early 1900's and early versions of this wagon were rated at 8 tons capacity with single shoe brake on one side. Later versions we re-rated at 10 tons capacity. There are few records indicating the number of built, although it is believed that several hundred were produced.
