MK3A Second Open - TO - Virgin
History
The MK3 coaches were designed to cope better with the growing competition of airlines and cars in the 70's. Originally designed as loco hauled rolling stock. Variants of the design was used for the HST and multiple units as well. Of the MK3A type more than 450 were built.
First and Standard Class variants were first built but Restaurant cars, Buffet Cars Sleepers and Pullman versions were also built.
