Class 45xx Prairie Tank

The members of the 45xx 2-6-2T class were used for branch line duties on both passenger and freight trains. They were based on class 44xx but with larger driving wheels. This gave them greater speed, capable of 60 mph (97 km/h). The first locomotives were built in 1906 and the last came in service in 1924. The last was withdrawn in 1964. 14 locomotives have been preserved.

The model
The model feature a heavy die-cast chassis and detailed cab interior.
The locomotive is equipped with an 8 pin DCC socket on the printed circuit board, which is ready to accept 8 pin DCC decoders.
